Perl/Tk Quote Of The Day Client
This is a small app for Perl/Tk that connects to a port on a remote machine, gets the data given to it, and displays this data to the user. It does not send any data.
This client is not only useful for the Quote Of The Day (qotd - port 17) protocol. It can also be used for other similar protocols which simply send data, such as daytime (port 13), systat (port 11) and password generator.
This Site has a simple Quote Of The Day server written in Perl. It can be easily modified to act as a server for another protocol.
